Meet Emma – We Love Pets Farnborough

Being a mum of three and building and growing a business is going to be challenging. But I’m not going into this blind, and I’m not scared of hard work!

Emma is the proud franchise owner of We Love Pets Farnborough

I’ve always wanted to start my own business, but it needed to be something I was passionate about.

I have always had my eye on maybe buying a franchise but hadn’t found one that was transparent or right for me. Then I was introduced to We Love Pets through a family member, Samantha, who opened her own branch covering Twyford and Yateley in 2018.

I’ve watched Samantha grow her business and I knew it was something I wanted to learn more about. Me and my husband, Alun, had a long chat with Ryan who was very supportive and answered all the questions I asked. I wasn’t rushed into a decision and felt at home straight away.

Ryan wanted to get to know us as much as we wanted to get to know the company, which was so reassuring – knowing that they only invest in people who can continue their success.

Not only did I speak to head office before deciding to go ahead but I also spoke to several other franchisees and they were all as helpful as the head office team.

Franchising versus running your own business

Being part of a company but it being your own business while having the support from head office is the benefit of franchising, over starting my own business alone, for me. Also, being part of the community of We Love Pets.

Although head office is there to support me as much as I need, I also bring my own marketing and networking skills from running my own online business over the last few years.

Walkies!

We’re all very excited; me, Alun, our three children and our Shih Tzu cross Maltese, Maddie.

Maddie is my first baby; she’s been there through all the pregnancies; she ever alerted me to being pregnant every time before I even found out! She is protective and my mini side kick, and also a little bit of a diva, but she’s 12, so she’s allowed to be. She won’t walk in the wind or rain, and would would sleep all day and night if I let her!

Having lived in Fleet all my life I know the area really well, there’s a real community spirit here and I can’t wait to enjoy the outdoors more often on the dog walks.

To be able to create a better life for me and my family, flexibility and to be able to earn a higher wage is super exciting.

I’m very determined and driven and know that with the support from We Love Pets it’ll be a success.
