There are so many so-called “essential” dog walking toys and gadgets on the market these days, it can be difficult to know what is worth investing in and what is a fad. In order to get to the bottom of this, we thought who better to ask than the professionals at We Love Pets?

Other than a lead, what are our dog walkers’ most essential dog walking items? We asked and they answered!

  1. SQUEAKY BALLS

Yep, you heard right! Squeaky balls are a fantastic dog toy to take out with you on walks for a number of reasons, as our Bridgend branch manager Millie explains…

“I always have some squeaky balls on me for entertaining the dogs, but also for grabbing the attention of dogs who take a bit more convincing to come back!”

  1. BUM BAG

The perfect item for carrying your phone, car keys and treats, keeping your pockets clean and hands-free for looking after the dogs.

“I hate it when my pockets end up filled with stinky treat crumbs!” Tracey, Reading East branch.

  1. SAFE STIX

Safe Stix also came up high on the list of recommended items. A flexible but resistant stick shaped dog toy with all the fun of an actual stick but much less chance of resulting in a trip to the vets!

“Safe stick is more resistant than sticks (which are unsafe) and they love playing with it!” Silene, Barnet branch

  1. POO BAGS

Of course, who could forget the humble poo bag? It’s so important to respect the environment and the people we share these beautiful dog-walking spots with, and cleaning up after ourselves is part of that. Our no pack walk policy means our dog walkers are able to keep an eye on all of the dogs in their care, and clean up any mess they leave behind.
