Our franchisees

Meet the WLP team

We’re all a bit animal mad

You don’t have to be animal crazy in this job, but it helps! Our franchisees are first and foremost animal lovers with a passion for animal safety and doing things properly. Although there is no single profile that fits a We Love Pets franchisee – we come from backgrounds as varied as the armed forces, teaching, sales, IT, legal and many more – we do all share one thing in common: we live and breathe the We Love Pets values, or Paws for Thought as we call them.

Belief in pets as having a valued role in our lives, families and society is a must, as well as a desire to care for any pet with the same love and attention you would if they were your own. You don’t have to have had a career working with animals – many of our franchisees haven’t! – but if your eyes light up and your heart sings when you think about your favourite pets, we want to hear from you! Wherever you’ve come from, you’ll fit right in with our animal mad bunch.

“Working with animals has helped my mental health – Helen’s story

On paper, Helen had a full life globetrotting with her husband, affording life’s luxurious thanks to a high-flying job in Sales. This is Helen’s story in her own words.

“I broke free from corporate shackles” – Jenny’s Story

By her own admission, Jenny had a great job at Warner Bros. The pay was good, the perks were awesome, and the company offered solid career progression. Nearly eight years into her role as Recruitment Manager, Jenny gave it all up to be a We Love Pets franchisee. Why? Because she wanted a business that worked around her lifestyle.

“Work-life balance achieved!” – Tracey’s story

Over five years ago, Tracey left her job in Corporate Communications because it was making her ill. She was passing out every other day, exhausted, stressed and could no longer drive as a result. Things had to change and her health had to start coming first. Tracey’s work-life balance needed to be restored so she quit her 9-5, became a We Love Pets franchisee, and hasn’t looked back…

Starting a pet business at 50 – Jackie’s story

It can come at any time in our lives, that desire for change, for perhaps something more. We give so much during our younger years, not only to employers, but to friends and family as we endeavour to find out what we really enjoy doing for ourselves. For some, finding...
